The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is commemorating the centenary of the birth of Professor Fred Sanger, a Fellow at King's from 1954 to 1983 who is widely regarded as "the father of genomics".

A composition by King's alumna Kate Whitley (KC 2007) was premièred in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 29th June by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the Orchestra's Music Director Sir Simon Rattle.

Darin Weinberg's book Contemporary Social Constructionism (2014, Temple) has been awarded the 2018 Melvin Pollner Prize in Ethnomethodology by the American Sociological Association's section on Ethnomethodology and Conversation Analysis.
