Staff across a number of departments at King's have been recognised for their outstanding customer service as the College won the Best Overall Customer Experience prize in the University College B&B category of the Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID) Awards ceremony last week.

The winners were selected on the evidence of Cambridge BID’s 2019 Mystery Shop programme, which commissioned independent market research company, Storecheckers, to covertly assess standards of customer service against criteria such as staff attitude, professionalism and local knowledge. The award was presented last Thursday at the Fisher Building at St John’s College by the Mayor of the City of Cambridge, Councillor Gerri Bird.

In reaction, the Domus Bursar, Phil Isaac, said:

The College is absolutely delighted to receive this award. King’s has been offering bed and breakfast to members of the public for some four years and pays particular attention to excellent customer service, extremely high standards of accommodation and dining and a very collaborative approach from the Porters, chefs, front of house staff and members of Housekeeping. They should all be rightly proud of this fine achievement and recognition.
