Albums on the King's College record label have been made available to download directly from King's for the first time. Recordings including those of King's College Choir are included in the new release of 'studio master' recordings available at the record label's website kingscollegerecordings.com Available as low-cost mp3 downloads, listeners are also now able to download high-resolution versions of the recordings sometimes known as 'studio masters'. Billed as 'above CD-quality sound', these files are the highest resolution files that exist. Included in the initial availability of downloads are the Choir's recent recording of the Duruflé Requiem, which was nominated in the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), as well as Hymns from King's, and the Evensong Live albums.  The recent recording by Stephen Cleobury of the renowned Harrison & Harrison organ in King's College Chapel, with music by Reubke, Liszt and Mendelssohn, is also now available to download from King's, alongside the critically-acclaimed King's Men album Twelve Days of Christmas. Supporters of the King's College record label are offered three download options for the albums, including two high-definition formats. Many of the albums can now be downloaded at the original sample rate of 96kHz & 24-bit, compared to the 44.1kHz 16-bit audio used on standard CDs. With a growing number of King's College Choir's supporters choosing to buy directly from King's, the whole own-label catalogue is also available in physical formats, offering surround-sound for many albums, and the first classical album in Dolby Atmos 3D surround-sound on Blu-ray.
