The Spanish Studies Studentship provides £9,000 funding for each of three years of PhD study. This is available to a student who will be studying 17th and/or 18th century Spanish art and literature. There is one award remaining. If there is no suitable applicant, this Studentship will be offered in 2026/27.
How to Apply
All applicants to the University of Cambridge to study either a PhD in Spanish, a PhD in History of Art, or a PhD in History can be considered for this Studentship, if the focus of the PhD is 17th and/or 18th century Spanish art and literature.
During your course application process, please indicate that you wish to apply for funding. If you may be eligible, you will be presented with information, through the portal, in order to apply for this Studentship.
Note that you will need to nominate King's College as your first-choice or second-choice College in order to be considered.
For applications from 8th January 2025: If you are submitting your course application subsequent to the course funding deadline, you may still be considered for this particular Studentship. Studentship Feedback
Towards the end of their time in Cambridge, the holder of the Studentship will be expected to submit a brief report on their academic work, describe their experience at King’s, and indicate their intentions for the future.
