Welcome to King's College Porter's Lodge. Please take a few minutes to read and accept our site rules, safety, personal data usage and privacy policies.

On arrival Upon arrival all visitors and contractors must sign in at the Porters’ Lodge using the College`s computerized Facilities Management System. They will then be issued with passes and any keys they require. To facilitate this all visitors and contractors should provide their details (and those of anyone else who requires access) to their College point-of-contact (POC) before arriving on site so they can be assigned a QR code. A College induction must also be completed, and this will remain valid for a period of 12 months whereupon a new induction will need completing.
Parking Unless agreed beforehand, there are no provisions for visitors and contractors to park within the College grounds, except in the case of an emergency callout, or where the work involves the use of equipment fixed/located in the vehicle (such as compressors and drain jetting etc.). The storage of tools does not constitute an exception. Heavy tools and materials may be dropped off prior to the induction before parking off-site. If parking is agreed, the vehicle registration should be provided to the College point-of-contact prior to arrival on site. Persons are not allowed to sit in any vehicle with the engine idling, must park sensibly, and refrain from parking immediately in front of the Provost’s Lodge.
Access Visitors and contractors must not enter any part of the College other than those in which they have been granted access.
Fire Alarm On discovery of a fire you must operate the nearest Fire Alarm call point. In the event of a Fire Alarm sounding (continuous tone) you must evacuate the building immediately by the nearest safe exit and report to the nearest assembly point. Please see local Fire Action notices throughout the site.
Covid-19 Additional measures are currently in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Any visitor must:
- Have prior approval to visit the College.
- Adhere to social distancing guidelines (2 metres / 6 feet distancing where possible).
- Wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitisers where provided.
- Wear a face masks where you are not able to maintain a 2-metre distance.
Incidents All incidents, injuries and illnesses must be reported immediately to the Porters’ Lodge.
Security If you discover a suspicious package you must immediately contact the Porters’ Lodge and await further instruction. Remove yourself and anyone you are with from the immediate area, and do not touch the object. Property of the College may not be removed without permission. Any person on King’s College property may be detained for search without prior notice.
Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs Smoking or vaping are not permitted anywhere within the College or its grounds. Visitors and contractors are not allowed on site under the influence of non-prescribed drugs, including alcohol.
Identification visitors and contractors must always wear a visitor’s pass, issued by the Porters’ Lodge on arrival at the site.
Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated, and any transgressor will be asked to leave the site immediately.
Radios and music players are not allowed to be played anywhere on site, including those in vehicles, and must be switched off prior to entering the College.
Photography is prohibited without the express written permission of The Clerk of the Works. Images of the College, including the College crest, are not to be used or reproduced without permission.
Anyone who does not follow the above will be asked to leave the premises.
