On behalf of the Provost and Fellows of King’s College, the Development Office is delighted to invite Members from the classes of 1989, 1984 and 1979 to a reunion event in College on Saturday, 28 September to celebrate their 35th, 40th and 45th Anniversary since matriculation. Members from the supporting classes 1988, 1990, 1983, 1985, 1978 and 1980 are also invited to join the celebrations.
The cost to attend the reception and dinner is £65.00 per person for Members and guests. If you are unable to attend the evening drinks and dinner, but would still like to join the daytime programme and catch up with friends, there is no charge to attend, but advance registration is still required.
Programme
At 1.30pm the event will begin with registration, followed at 2.00pm with a choice of two walking tours - College Gardens, led by Head Gardener, Stephen Coghill, or the Gibbs Buildings '300 years of conversation' with Domus Bursar and Fellow, Polly Ingham. Following the tours afternoon refreshments will be served in the Bar. At 4.00pm, the Provost, Dr Gillian Tett, will join the Senior Tutor, Dr Myfanwy Hill, to discuss her ambitions for the College and some of the opportunities and challenges ahead.
You are also warmly invited by the Dean and Chaplain to attend Evensong in the Chapel at 5.30pm and the Sunday morning service at 10.30am. If you're interested in being a reader for one of the Chapel services please do let us know.
The evening reunion activities will begin at 6.30pm with a drinks reception in the Bar, followed by a three-course formal dinner in Hall at 7.30pm. Grace and a musical interlude will be performed by the Choir.
The suggested dress code is casual for the daytime, and smart/evening attire for the drinks reception and dinner. Lounge suits, semi-formal dress, or equivalent are appropriate. Black Tie is not required.
Accommodation & Parking
A number of basic, ensuite student rooms are offered for guests who wish to stay in College. Rooms cost £47.00 per night (single ensuite) and £65.00 (double ensuite), on a room only basis. The student rooms are offered as part of the reunion registration at a special Development Office rate and include a 3.00pm late checkout on Sunday 29 September.
The College also has a small number of permanent guestrooms that can be reserved year round by contacting: guestrooms@kings.cam.ac.uk. Please be aware that ‘College guestrooms’ are charged at a higher rate than student rooms and are subject to a 9.30am check-out time on your day of departure. University Members can also claim discounts at city centre hotels through the CAMCard scheme.
A limited amount of College parking will be available on 28-29 September. Please book student room accommodation and request parking when registering for the event.
Guests are welcome to use the Servery for brunch from 11.00am to 1.30pm on Saturday 28 and Sunday, 29 September (for card sales). Please note there is no early breakfast service in the College on weekends.

The deadline to register is Friday, 6 September. Please note that places at this event are limited and registration may close early if capacity is reached.
Please note that the reunion will coincide with the University Alumni Festival weekend held on 27-29 September 2024.
How you will be invited: Invitations to register for the reunion will be sent in June 2024. All correspondence will be sent by email whenever possible.
Please note that Members of King’s (from any matriculation year group) are welcome to register for all College reunion events (usual charges apply). Formal invitations will only be sent to the designated year groups, but details for upcoming events can be found on the Members Events webpages and are also listed in the King’s Parade magazine biannually.
