The Easter Festival concludes with a recital by viol consort Phantasm in front of Rubens' Adoration of the Magi, featuring the consort music of William Byrd. This year we celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Byrd's death, whose 'Great' Service Phantasm perform with the Choir in the Evensong on Easter Sunday.
Phantasm is one of the world’s most acclaimed viol consorts, celebrated for its ‘rigorous intellect with sensitive musicianship’ (BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE). This programme of consort music by William Byrd commemorates the 400thanniversary of his death.
