We are delighted to welcome Members who matriculated in and before 1972, and their guests at this year’s Foundation Lunch taking place in College on Saturday, 19 March.
The programme will include a talk from Dr Caroline Goodson (KC 2018) and Dr Katie Haworth (KC 2020), on the findings from the archaeological dig at the site of new King's graduate accommodation at Croft Gardens, where it revealed an extensive early medieval burial ground, shedding new light on life and death in Cambridge from the end of the Roman period.
2022 sees 50 years since women were admitted to King’s as undergraduate students, and we will be marking the anniversary throughout the year. Following lunch there will be an exhibition in the Wine Room drawing on the College Archives’ documentation of women at King’s, not only as students but also as staff and members of the wider King’s and Cambridge community, in the years leading up to 1972.
Please note that this year, the Foundation Concert will not be going ahead as usual, due to a private Memorial Service for Sir Stephen Cleobury taking place in Chapel. Guests are however, welcome to attend Evensong at 5.30pm (doors open at 5.10pm).
