Joubert St Mark Passion
The St Mark Passion was one of the last significant works in John Joubert’s varied output. Known primarily for the popular choral miniatures Torches and There is no rose, Joubert shows himself a formidable and sensitive dramatist in this heartfelt retelling of the Passion story. Works for Passiontide by compositional contemporaries Kenneth Leighton and Robin Holloway complete this colourful and contemplative sequence.
