A new study led by King’s Research Fellow Dr Cicely Marshall shows that establishing the wildflower meadow has made a considerable impact to the wildlife value of the land, while reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with its upkeep. The study has been published today in the journal Ecological Solutions and Evidence. If you're worried about someone but you're not sure what to say, start by mentioning the signs you've noticed and that you care about them. Yesterday more than 300 King's students, staff and Fellows and their families spent some time away from their desks and surrounded by red pandas, agoutis, alpacas and white rabbits. The first 'Wildlife Day' at @SheprethWPark was enjoyed by all. A big shout-out must go to the Senior Tutor and the King's academics who turned into wonderful park guides for the day, and to the Welfare team for organising the event and transport. No mean feat! 🚌

For these three King's students, last weekend will be remembered as the time they won Table Tennis Cuppers. Robert, Khoi and Razvan only started playing together halfway through Michaelmas Term, but managed to be promoted to division 1 of the College League, climb to the top of said division during Lent defying the odds - and winning all their matches against other colleges - and then win Cuppers. Robert told us they have been training two or three times a week, and that while he and Khoi had played and competed when at school, Razvan had only practised at home until this year. Did we mention last week was a busy one? 😁 The annual Karting Cuppers took place last Sunday, and second year undergraduate Razik made it to the top of the podium after a 2-hour endurance race. Trophy in hand (he is allowed to keep it until next year's Cuppers) Razik told us "I’ve been karting for a while now, but only really started participating in competitive races after coming to uni. For me, it’s a great way to take a break from the intensity that can often be synonymous with life at Cambridge, whilst doing something I hugely enjoy.” Congratulations to Razik and the rest of the King's&Clare team! @camunisport @cuautomobileclub @clarecollege
