Introduction to resources
Beyond purely academic achievements, one way in which students can help themselves stand out to top universities is by showing that they have engaged with their subject beyond the scope provided for in the curriculum. This sort of wider engagement is what we call ’supra-curricular activities’. They come in a range of forms, including reading and reflecting on books and articles, listening to podcasts, attending lectures and workshops, undertaking informal or formal work experience, and more.
We have gathered below some of our favourite resources to support teachers and advisors working with high-aiming students. These resources cover a wide variety of topics, age groups, and activity types. They can be used:
- To point high-aiming students towards appropriate supra-curricular activities
- As activities in the classroom
- As the basis of activities in an extension club or subject club
If you have any questions about using the resources or how best to support students, please get in touch.
