About Computing & Society at King's

King’s College, Cambridge has shaped the story of modern computing and now has the opportunity to shape its social trajectory. Computing is no longer a specialist concern: the web, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity affect how we learn, work, govern, and create. Computing & Society is a light-footprint, College-wide initiative whose sole aim is to support cross-disciplinary research and practice by convening people, unblocking processes, and supplying simple tools to foster collaboration. The initiative is designed as an Ideas Lab that is neither a research centre nor an incubator. It is a friendly hub that helps students, Fellows, and our King’s community share their work, test ideas early, and translate research into teaching, policy, and public-facing outputs.
