Congratulations to the Light Blues on another fantastic clean sweep in this weekend's Boat Races. We're especially proud of @CUBCSquad President, King's alumnus Luca Ferraro (fourth from left), on his third victory in a row!🏆 These wins mark a fourth clean sweep for the Light Blues, in which they have won all six races (Lightweight Men's and Women's Races, Blue Boat Men's and Women's Races, and Reserve Men's and Women's races). A rare and significant archive of Alan Turing's unpublished papers has found a permanent home at King's. 📜 The papers reveal fascinating details about Turing's 'Delilah' project, which aimed to build a portable voice encoder for short distance military transmissions. The archive was saved thanks to generous philanthropic support from XTX Markets, Friends of the Nation's Libraries, the National Heritage Fund and King's College. The Light Blues achieved another fantastic victory (3-2) at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday, in front of an audience exceeding 2,000 ⚽ Despite trailing 1-0 at halftime against Oxford, the team displayed fought back, with King's student Alissa netting the decisive goal. On Tuesday our Admissions and Outreach teams travelled to Middlesbrough to celebrate the launch of the new @IntoUniversity centre. 📚‍🔬 The new education facility, which is jointly funded by King's and education charity IntoUniversity, will provide academic support, mentoring and aspiration-raising activities for young people in Middlesbrough. King’s has been committed to student outreach in the North East of England for more than 20 years and works with a number of secondary schools in the region to encourage talented students to pursue further study. Applications for this year's Entrepreneurial Essay Competition are now open! 🚨 The competition, run by King's Entrepreneurship Lab, aims to encourage UK-based 16-18 year olds to pursue entrepreneurial aspirations and understand better how to launch an enterprise. Last year's winners, representing Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet; Tiffin School and Lancaster Royal Grammar School, were invited to King's last term for a special prize-giving ceremony [pictured].
