What's Included
King's College Chapel
A visit to King’s College Chapel is one of the highlights of any trip to Cambridge, offering a unique opportunity to experience extraordinary architecture, history, and a living academic tradition.
Your ticket includes entry to the magnificent Chapel itself, widely regarded as one of the finest examples of late Gothic architecture in the world. Inside, you can admire the soaring fan-vaulted ceiling, the stunning 16th‑century stained glass windows, and the beautifully carved choir stalls. Behind the High Altar, Rubens’ Adoration of the Magi provides a striking focal point.
Interpretive information throughout your visit brings the Chapel’s long history to life; from its foundation by King Henry VI in 1446 to its role today as a place of worship and a world-renowned centre of choral music.
Please note that access to other College buildings is not included. King’s is a working college, and these buildings are home to students who live, eat, and study on site. It is important that they have private spaces away from public access, and therefore these areas are closed to visitors year round.
Gardens
You will also have access to the Chapel grounds, where you can enjoy peaceful views of the River Cam and the iconic “Backs.” These green spaces offer a calm and scenic setting, perfect for photographs or a moment of quiet reflection.
We are fortunate that the Chapel and grounds remain open to the public even during quieter academic periods. During these times, we kindly ask visitors to respect the peaceful environment, helping to preserve the calm atmosphere that makes King’s such a special place.

Access to the Turing Sculpture
The Turing Sculpture is located within a part of the College that is not included on the standard visitor route. As a result, access cannot be arranged on the day and must be requested in advance.
If you would like to include the Turing Sculpture as part of your visit, you must contact us ahead of time so that we can discuss availability. Visits are always subject to staff resources, as all access must be chaperoned by a member of the College team.
Please note that admission tickets to the Chapel and Grounds should still be purchased in the usual way. Access to the Turing Sculpture is arranged in addition to your standard visit.
Access to the Sculpture is not available during the College’s quiet period - typically from April to June inclusive - due to its proximity to the library.
We will do our best to accommodate requests wherever possible and recommend getting in touch early to avoid disappointment.
