The Art Rooms at King's

Perched at the top of the newly-refreshed 'A' staircase, the Art Rooms are a suite of rooms which host a community of artists, creatives, and exhibitions.

The number of members has grown steadily over the past few years, but the space remains consistent to these fundamental rules:

  • Open to all of members at all times
  • No financial barrier to creativity
  • Leave your degree* at the door

(*and other academia, work, and associated stresses)

The Art Rooms offer a freedom that so many of us are trying to find in other areas of our lives: when I've been scared about an essay feedback, or overwhelmed by exam revision, or stressed about personal issues, it's been hugely relieving to hide up there and paint or organise or just sit between the half-finished projects, no matter what time of day or night.

Teddy Graham, President of the Art Rooms

If you are a student or member of staff at King's interested in becoming a member of the Art Rooms, please email Teddy or Art Rooms Coordinator Alex Massouras to find out more.
