Visits to King's on Subject Open Days

Modern and Medieval Languages open day

The Languages Faculty open day takes place in March each year.

Some of the Departments hold a subject specific department open day, or Saturday Masterclasses, which take place at different times during the year. You can see the department's facilities on these events and talk to a good number of academics and students from all Colleges in your subject. There is normally a talk on the course and some taster lectures to give you a sense of what studying the subject at university level will be like.

Once you are in Year 12, the Year 12 events in Cambridge page is useful to search for suitable subject events. NB. occasionally the event may be organised by one of the Cambridge Colleges rather than a department.

Remember that at Cambridge you are taught both by the relevant department and through small-group supervisions with academics in your College (see how you are taught), so you may also want to visit a College or two whilst you are in Cambridge. You would be welcome to visit King's!

Visiting King's

Please let the Visitor Guides on the Gate know that you are visiting as a prospective student. If there is no Visitor Guide or you see a College Closed sign, please do not be put off - introduce yourself to the porters in the Porters' Lodge, which you'll find on your left, just inside the entrance. The public areas of King's will be open to you and information can be picked up from the Porters' Lodge. If you want to, you could download and print our self guided tour for prospective students to bring with you.
