Professor Michael Proctor re-elected

Professor Michael Proctor, re-elected as King's Provost until 30 September 2023.

The College is very pleased to announce that a packed, special Congregation of the Governing Body convened on Tuesday 2 May, unanimously voted to elect Michael Proctor to a second term of office as Provost beginning on 1 October 2018.

Mike first took up office on 1 October 2013 and the College Statutes stipulate that the Provost may serve for up to ten years; Mike's re-election will therefore run until 30 September 2023.

Mike commented:

I am hugely grateful to the Fellows of the College for the confidence they have shown in me. It is  an outstanding privilege to be able to help shape such an individual and stimulating institution while preserving its outstanding intellectual and cultural standards and achievements. The University, of which King’s is such an important part, faces difficult challenges and I much look forward to working with the Fellows to develop a strategic direction for the College to take us through the next five year period.
