A special service of Evensong sung jointly by the choirs of St John's and King's Colleges took place in King's College Chapel on Thursday evening, 2 July. The annual event was a particularly special occasion, marking the 500th anniversary of the completion of the stonework of the Chapel.

The two choirs sung canticles written for King's College by Herbert Howells as well as Parry's royal anthem 'I was glad'. Directors of Music from both colleges shared the conducting, while the King's undergraduate Organ Scholars shared some of the playing with their counterparts from St John's College.

You can read a blog about the service by Stephen Cherry, Dean of King's.
