In an article on 18 October, the Financial Times gave the profiles of ten physicists who it sees will be 'the next big names' in physics. Junior Research Fellow Dr Suchitra Sebastian was included on the list.

Suchitra studies superconductivity and magnetism in novel materials and has already won several international awards for her work.

In June she won a L'Oréal Women in Science Fellowship as well as a prestigious five-year Starting Grant by the European Research Council (ERC).

Last year she won the Institute of Physics (IOP) Moseley Medal and Prize, and The International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) Young Scientist Medal.
