Roger Fry self-portrait
The January Archive of the month features the influential artist and art critic Roger Fry (1866-1934). Fry came to King's in 1885 and studied Natural Sciences.
His interests soon turned to art, however, and when he left he became an authority on Old Masters. He later championed the recent wave of French art that he termed 'Post-Impressionism'.
The Archive Centre at King's holds some of Fry's letters, lectures and sketchbooks, examples of which are shown in the Archive of the month.
