King's College Choir in concert

Stephen Cleobury, the Director of Music, has invited children from The West London Free School to sing with the Choir on 29 January. The Choir will perform Bach's St Matthew Passion at The King's Place in London, and the children will sing the part for ripieno chorus.

The West London Free School opened in September 2011. It specialises in music and has 12 music scholars in each year group who follow an expanded music curriculum. With two year groups now in place, the school is able to run a girls choir and a boys choir of 40 singers each.

Recent performance venues have included the Southbank Centre and Kew Gardens, and in April they will be singing in Islington's Union Chapel. A small group of sopranos and trebles from these choirs have been selected to participate in the Kings Place concert.

For details of the concert see the King's Place website.
