Lily Cole launched a new social networking venture called 'Impossible' yesterday outside King's.
The Impossible.com website and app will allow people to offer their time and skills for free. Lily, who read Art History at King's, started the venture with Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, and showed the app to students on the front lawn of the College.
Impossible aims to encourage a culture of giving: 'Make a wish. Take a wish. Say thanks.' You post a wish or fulfil someone else's wish, and expect no return.
Initially it will only be for invited members, including Cambridge students, before it is given a general release later in the year. To find out more, visit the Impossible website.
Lily and Jimmy Wales will take part in a debate this evening (Thursday) at the Cambridge University Students' Union on whether a society of giving is impossible.
