King's College Choir has won the Classical Elite Award for the Best Choral Concert in Shanghai, 2011. The Choir performed the Shanghai concert on 27 July last year, and sang a programme of British music, including works by Britten, Walton and Vaughan Williams.

Every year Classical Elites Shanghai awards several prizes to the best artists and concerts in 15 different categories. More than 300 concerts and artists were put forward to receive the prizes.

In a prestigious award ceremony, a representative of the Shanghai Concert Hall accepted the award, which has been framed and hung up in the Concert Hall.

The Choir has been to Asia several times in recent years. Since 2007 it has visited China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea. Last year's concert was the Choir's second trip to China.
