The Choir celebrates two composers' birthdays

On Saturday 20 October the Faculty of Music celebrated the 80th birthdays of the distinguished composers Alexander Goehr (formerly Professor of Music), and Hugh Wood (formerly University Lecturer in Music).

In our photograph (right) the choristers and choral scholars are seen with Sandy and Hugh following the Choir's performances in the West Road concert hall of Goehr's A Little Cantata of Proverbs (Blake) and Wood's This is the record of John.

The events of the day, which included a concert in Chapel, were arranged by Professor Iain Fenlon, Fellow of King's and Chairman of the Faculty Board of Music. Many leading figures from the world of music were present, including the new King's fellow in composition, Richard Causton.
