Rowing through the night: Josh Keeler outside the front of the college

King's postgraduates Ildar Gaisin and Josh Keeler finished their gruelling 24-hour rowing marathon at noon on Sunday.

Between them, they rowed 206 miles and burned 26,000 kCal. They were joined by members of the King's College Boat Club, which pushed the distance rowed overall to an astonishing 700 miles.

Ildar and Josh were raising money for Cancer Research UK, a cause which has personal significance for them both (see the previous news story). They rowed on machines outside the front of the college, and donations were taken from passers-by.

They are still taking donations online, however, so if you would like to contribute please go to their JustGiving website. You can see pictures of the event on their university web page.

Congratulations to Ildar and Josh for an extraordinary achievement!
