Festive spirits in the Archive of the month

Wine merchant's letterhead

December's Archive of the month is about wine at King's. 'King's uncorked: wine in the college' has images of documents dating back to 1446, when Henry VI gave the college an annuity of 256 gallons of Gascon wine.

Other documents from the King's Archive Centre include letters from wine suppliers, wine lists and the rules for serving wine in the college Hall.

An introduction to the documents tells the story of wine at the college from Henry's time to the present day.
