The BBC is broadcasting a concert and a service from King's College Chapel over the Easter period.
On Good Friday on Radio 3 you can hear a live broadcast of Frank Martin's Golgotha. This poignant piece was inspired by Rembrandt’s The Three Crosses and creates a world in darkness and doubt in which the five soloists share the narrative and roles. Apart from the soloists, the concert features the Philharmonia Chorus and the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Stephen Cleobury. For more details about the concert see the Easter at King's page.
On Easter Sunday you can watch a special service from King's on BBC2. "Easter from King's" includes seasonal hymns sung by King's College Choir, beginning with There Is a Green Hill Far Away. The Choir also sing Allegri's Miserere, Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, extracts from Handel's Messiah and music by Vaughan Williams. The story of Jesus's death and resurrection is told in the well-loved words of the King James Bible.
