'Araucaria' on Desert Island Discs

John Graham

Kingsman and crossword compiler John Graham, better known as his pseudonym 'Araucaria', is on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this week.

He recalls how music was a big part of his life at King's, and chooses a track sung by King's College Choir: The Three King's by Cornelius. Listen to the whole programme on the Desert Island Discs website.

Graham read Classics then Theology at King's, entered the church, and in 1958 wrote his first crossword for The Guardian. He has since become one of the best-loved and the most inventive crossword compilers in the country. He turned 90 earlier this year (see a previous news story).
