The SAQ form

The SAQ form must be submitted by all applicants to Cambridge University. Please read the relevant information below.

Students from EU countries (including the UK)

Within 36 hours of submitting your UCAS form, you will receive an email giving you log-in details for the SAQ (Supplementary Application Questionnaire), which you must submit online by 18:00 UK time on 22 October.

A warning: You have not submitted a valid application to Cambridge/King's if you fail to meet the SAQ deadline, and we will not pursue your application any further. We strongly recommend that you do not leave any part of your application to the last minute in case you encounter difficulties that may take some time to resolve and which may cause you to miss a deadline as a result.

We can start working on your application as soon as we receive your SAQ and encourage you to submit it as soon as you are able once you have the log-in details  (though please do not rush it).

If you have any problems with the SAQ, please:

Within 24 hours of submitting your SAQ you will receive a confirmation email. Please ensure that you have received this.

You may be asked to send a transcript with your SAQ form. You do not need to delay submission of your SAQ for this if you do not have it to hand -  you can log in again to submit the transcript as long as you do so by 18:00 UK time on 22 October.

Students at school outside the European Union

Within 36 hours of submitting your UCAS form, you will receive an email giving you log-in details and the deadline for the SAQ (Supplementary Application Questionnaire). In most cases your email will confirm that you must submit the SAQ online by 18:00 UK time on 22 October.

You will need your COPA reference number.

Since you will need to enter your COPA reference number in order to complete the SAQ, it is essential to submit your COPA and receive your COPA confirmtion email containing your COPA reference number before you can work on the SAQ. Do bear in mind that the COPA confirmation email may take up to 24 hours to arrive. Tip: Most students fill in the COPA form well ahead of the deadlines so that everything is ready at this stage.

For students from outside the EU, the SAQ is a short form. Once you enter your COPA reference number, most of the questions on the form will disappear as they are for students from the UK and EU countries (you have already filled in a lo of details on your COPA).

If you have any problems with the SAQ, please

A warning: You have not submitted a valid application to Cambridge/King's if you fail to meet the SAQ deadline, and we will not pursue your application any further. We strongly recommend that you do not leave any part of your application to the last minute in case you encounter difficulties that may take some time to resolve and which may cause you to miss a deadline as a result.

Within 24 hours of submitting your SAQ you will receive a confirmation email. Please ensure that you have received this.
