King's Men launch 'Love from King's'

The Choral Scholars of King’s College Choir, under their a cappella group name The King’s Men, have today released a new album of close harmony music. Love from King’s is an album of beautiful new arrangements of romantic pop & jazz favourites, featuring classic tracks by Adele, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Michael Bublé and more. The majority of the tracks on the album were arranged specially for the album, with arrangements by former King’s Choir members including Harry Bradford, Sebastian Johns and Ruairi Bowen. The album also features a newly commissioned song, I carry your heart, by former Choral Scholar and published composer Toby Young. Unlike many close-harmony groups, the King’s Men record most of their tracks singing together, as they would in a live performance. This lends itself to more a more cohesive and authentic sound. Performing a small selection of tracks in a studio then gives the Choral Scholar the more unusual experience of multi-tracking and studio performance work. Previous albums by the King’s Men include the ★★★★★ album Twelve Days of Christmas, which was described by Gramophone as having “all the cosiness and geekiness of a garish Christmas jumper”. The group’s first album on the King’s College label, After Hours, shot to #1 in the iTunes Classical Charts on release. Love from King’s is available from 2 February to buy on CD, to stream and to download. Listen, stream & buy Love from King’s > Choral Scholarships at King's > The King's Men >
