Choir at its 'British best' in the USA
The Choir has just arrived back from a five-stop tour of the United States. Visiting New York, Washington DC, St Paul MN, Chicago and Dallas TX, the Choir performed a varied programme with music by Gibbons, Poulenc, Fauré, Howells, and more.
Much of the programme had connections with King’s, including commissions for the Choir by Judith Weir and Nicholas Maw, and a piece by Richard Causton, Fellow in Composition at King’s.
With standing ovations at every venue, the performances have been very well received, with one review commenting that the Choir’s performance demonstrated why it was the 'standard-bearer' for British choral music.
