Memorial service for Robert Tear

There will be a Memorial Service for Robert Tear in King's College Chapel on Saturday 5 November at 2.30pm.

Robert Tear CBE died on 29 March this year, aged 72. He was a renowned tenor and an Honorary Fellow of King's. He was born in Barry, Wales, and studied at the grammar school there before becoming a Choral Scholar at King's.

He graduated from King's in 1960 and made his operatic debut in 1966 for the English Opera Group. He went on to develop an acclaimed career as a singer and a conductor, and appeared on over 250 recordings.
