Chapel Services

King's College Chapel is a place of worship, attended and loved by people within the College and outside it. Church of England services are held here, including daily Evensong and sung Eucharist on Sundays. As a College Chapel we have services through the week during term. These are primarily for the benefit of the resident members of the College but we also we warmly welcome members of the wider university and the public to join us. We are delighted that so many people come to share in these acts of worship every day.

Choral Services

Choral services take place at 10.30 and 3.30 on Sundays and 5.30 every weekday in term.

Details of all our services, including all the music that will be sung, is presented in our termly chapel booklet below. The booklet also contains details of said services and organ recitals and concerts.

If you would like to attend a choral service in Chapel please arrive at the Main Gate on King’s Parade in good time. Porters, Visitor Guiders and Vergers will look after you as you enter College, wait to gain entry and find a seat in the Chapel. Members of the University who show their University Card may be able to be seated in the sub-stalls.

Said Services

In addition to our choral services, more intimate acts of worship are offered each weekday in one of the side chapels. Normally, Holy Communion is celebrated at 12.30 pm. If there is a Sung Eucharist in the evening, the 12.30pm service that day will be the Office of Readings, at which we hear and reflect on passages both from the Bible and from the great spiritual writers. On Wednesday at 12.30pm a time of silent meditation takes place. Signage in the Chapel will indicate where these services are being held each day. Please talk to a member of College staff who will direct you to the Chapel so that you avoid any unnecessary queues.
